An 8th Generation Creole, Simien has become one of the most respected and internationally recognized touring and recording artists in Louisiana music today. With roots firmly planted alongside the great Creole zydeco pioneers like Chenier, Delafose, Chavis, Ardoin and the other Simien, Terrance, born into the hippie folk and soul music era, grew up artistically influenced by all of America's great musical legacy. Simien was as influenced by Dylan and Simon and Garfunkel as he was by Sam Cooke and the Meters.

Simien is a Zydeco Master: his voice yearning like Sam Cooke, he delivers soul worthy of Stax greats and shows crossover class.” - Rolling Stone

Creole for Kids All Over the Globe!
Mentoring is critical to the survival of Louisiana indigenous music and an important part of the musical landscape of this country. Simien counts himself one of the fortunate few with a direct link to the first Creole artists, some of whom mentored him as an emerging talent. He has assumed that same role to a new generation of young Zydeco players.
